On behalf of everyone at Ashrey Care and Ashrey Club, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the opportunity to support the Lightpoint Church Foodbank at the Watling Centre. Our members were absolutely delighted to take part in this initiative and were truly inspired by the incredible work being done each month to support local individuals and families in need.
At Ashrey Care, we pride ourselves on providing engaging, inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities four days a week through Ashrey Club. Our goal is to help our members build confidence, friendships, and valuable connections within the local community. This recent opportunity allowed our members to give back in a truly meaningful way, embodying the spirit of community that we cherish at the Watling Centre.
Recently, our members discovered the vital foodbank initiative run by Lightpoint Church, taking place right here at the Watling Centre. Inspired by the chance to help others, our members were eager to get involved. With tremendous enthusiasm and generosity, they collected a wide range of essential items, including food supplies, toiletries, household essentials, and other everyday necessities. Many members thoughtfully brought donations from home, showcasing incredible kindness and community spirit.
To make an even bigger contribution, the group also organised a special shopping trip! Working together, members chose and purchased additional items to add to their growing collection. This experience was about so much more than just collecting supplies; it was a valuable opportunity for our members to build confidence and independence, work together as a team, and make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of others.
We are incredibly proud of every member who took part in this wonderful initiative. Their efforts and kindness will make a real difference to the people and families who access the foodbank.
